1.1 Genre

Task 1:

In this scene we can see three characters armed with weapons, wearing masks and carrying a bag running out of a bank. This scene suggests that they have just done a heist at a bank and are trying to escape. This links to the genre of action through the props and costume the characters are wearing.
The theme in this scene is danger and determination as they are determined to get away safe from the heist and were also determined to rob the bank. The theme of danger comes in through them risking their lives to pull off this heist and also put their lives in danger for the future if they get away safely.

In this scene we are shown one the robbers killed and laying in the back of the trunk. The character is covered in blood still wearing his heist costume wrapped in a blanket, we can assume that something went wrong and he was murdered after the robbery. The link to action genre from this scene is violence. The theme in this scene are death as the character was murdered. We can guess that he has been murdered and it wasn't an accident from the fact he is in the back of the boot and there is someone's hand over the body showing it to probably a different character.

In this scene we are shown a character aiming a gun at what we can only imagine to be another person by the facial expression and the location where he is. The character is holing a gun pointing it in front of him and his facial expression show that his is angry and determined to hurt the person he is aiming it at. The link to action genre from this scene would have to be violence and fighting as we can also assume this is will turn out into a shoot out later on. The theme's in this scene are anger and violence, we can get this from the facial expression and the props used in the scene.

  1. Well done. They to use Film of Body guard and a range of other TV shows in the same genre as well as In the Line of Duty to show how your show has drawn on a range of influences to do some of the same thing as them but to bring new idea. Steve Neal.
